Heart of The Forest, original painting

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly".

Remnant beeswax from 60 prayer candles was gathered after their service, cleansed and melted with solvent to apply onto the 6 walls of the honeycomb cells. Together the cells rebuild a beehive and return the beeswax to its origins outlasting its innocent makers. In the midst of the beehive hangs an intricate play of symbols representing our mind (pine cone), body (heart), and breath that is reconnects us with our spirit (blue light). Moving through the heart and mind, the light guides us into presence and stillness. Only when surrounded by and interwoven with Nature do all things come to balance, where the mind chatter subsides. And  there you can hear your breath. And your heartbeat. And through that the heartbeat of the forest.
